Private Training
Private training is the most effective way to solve problem behaviors and accomplish your training goals whether on-site at one of our partner locations or in the comfort of your own home.  A training plan will be specifically tailored to your dog’s needs.  Some of the most common behavioral issues that can be addressed through private training include:

RESOURCE GUARDING
Shows itself as a growl, teeth being barred, a snap, or general possessiveness over food, toys, bones, or anything that your dog may see as valuable. Through behavior modification and training, your dog will learn that you are not a threat and feel more comfortable around "valuable" items.

SEPARATION ANXIETY
Is triggered when there is separation from the person or people a dog is most attached to. Symptoms can include urinating and defecating, barking and howling, chewing, digging and destruction, escaping, pacing, and coprophagia. There are many ways in which your dog can be taught that time left alone is enjoyable.

LEASH REACTIVITY
Often called leash aggression occurs when a dog is on-leash and feels restrained. Barking and lashing out at other dogs and people can be one of the most embarrassing problems. Through training your dog will learn that being leashed leads to pleasurable experiences.

WILL A BABY BE JOINING YOUR HOME SOON?
One of the best things that you can do for your loyal family dog is to prepare them for the changes that come with a new baby.

A training plan is personalized for each dog and can include; teaching calming behaviors for nap times, solidifying "leave it's" to differentiate between dog and baby items, desensitizing to new equipment and noises, heeling to a stroller, and proper dog to baby introductions.  Having a properly trained, prepared dog can decrease the many challenges of parenthood.

In addition, as your baby becomes mobile the transition can be difficult for your dog. Reinforcing avoidance techniques, desensitization handling, and safety are just some of the ways in which dogs and toddlers can learn to coexist. Babies develop quickly and our goal is to keep your dog ahead and prepared for what is coming the first 3 years of your child’s life.
